May: weekly Theater/Expressive Movement Workouts! 💃💪🎭

I’ve been thinking for awhile that I want to have a “physical theater workout” more often—an opportunity to move my body, and a reminder that I can use it creatively & expressively, in a low-key way (i.e. without the deadline of a show). And I want to do this with other people. And I want to spend time not sitting at a desk.

Does this sound appealing to you? If so, let’s do it! To try out this idea, I’m gonna lead a series of
🎭🏋THEATER/EXPRESSIVE MOVEMENT WORKOUTS💃💪
this month—join me!

Saturday, April 29 | 11am – 12:30pm
Friday, May 5 | 7pm – 8:30pm
Friday, May 12 | 7-8:30pm
Saturday, May 20 | 11am – 12:30pm
Friday, May 26 | 7pm – 8:30pm

Location: near Union Square, Somerville | email me for details

We will: move around ~ break a sweat ~ practice body awareness ~ practice physical precision and different qualities of movement ~ craft short movement sketches ~ blend moving with speaking with moving ~ do mostly solo-work but with a little bit of show-and-tell.

I’d ask that you kick in a little $ to help me cover the cost of the space—~$10-20, i.e. along the lines of a yoga class? Or whatever feels reasonable to you is fine.

My studio has limited space, so RSVPing is important—please email/msg me to do so. Anyone is welcome; i.e. artists and arts-curious folk of any discipline/experience level (including none). I think this will be fun!

P.S. Okay so this picture is NOT an accurate description of what we’d be doing in the studio, but I include here it bc it DEFINITELY depicts me feeling good while moving my body expressively (thanks School of HONK!)
