“A second dance number, performed by Veronica Barron and Rachel Wiese, was a mesmerizing piece featuring Barron’s “Be Clean When We Die” spiritual from her 2015 Gather ‘round the Mic recordings. The duo incorporated dance and shadow puppetry into the ritual of hanging laundry on the clothes line to Barron’s gorgeous and soulful vocals, and it was a thing of beauty.” —Mike Hoban, Theater Mirror

Rachel Wiese and I have been crafting a little something. A little dancetheater-shadowplay-livemusic sort of something.
And we’re showing it on Wednesday, one night only, at Sonia, in a CoLab (i.e. a show with many artists of different discipline, presenting work around a theme, woven loosely together), presented by Liars And Believers.
It’s hard to talk about new work. It’s hard to describe things that are just barely being born. But I can tell you that this is the art that I want to be making right now, and it’s exciting to start the new year this way.
Tickets are Pay What You Will, & there’s an exciting lineup of musicians, a tap dance percussion looping artist, a fashion show satire, a rap artist, a Chaplin-esque live silent film, and more. A good show to come out of your winter burrow for. 💙
