Feb 7: School of HONK Dance launches First Sunday Dance Parties!

Golden sequined wristbands. Polka dotted dresses and hats. Mardi Gras masks.

Sunday, February 7th was both a joyous School of HONK Mardi Gras “Fat Sunday” parade, and also the launch of School of HONK First Sunday Dance Parties!

For anyone who’s wondering, “What is School of HONK Dance?”

School of HONK is a free and open community music school that gathers to practice and parade every Sunday afternoon. Anyone can join the band—you can even learn to play just one note and then play that note in the parade that same day.

My dear friend Rosalie Norris and I have been working since last summer on adding a community dance troupe, with a vision of creating a welcoming and joyous dance opportunity for all levels of ability! We create and lead easy, powerfully fun dance moves that anyone can learn right away.

For anyone who wants to join in, find out more here :)
